The Importance of Pairs in Astrology
The Power of the Number Two
Understanding pairs and how they function is essential to working with the Zodiac, astrology, and Circe’s Code.
- There are six axes in the Placidus House system.
 - Each axis has two poles.
 - Each pole is guarded by one of the planets, or one of the luminaries (the sun & moon).
 - The Guardian at one end of the pole is always opposite the same Guardian.

For instance, Venus is always opposite of Mars in the Natural Chart. You will never find her opposite to Mercury, or anyone else. She is always paired up with Mars. Guardians are paired up for a reason. They teach us how core values work together to create strong structures. This is the power of two in relation to pairs.
Terminology: Luminaries
The Moon and the Sun are referred to as the luminaries in traditional astrology, because they are not technically classified as planets. The planets do glow in the night sky, but they don’t provide ample light to Earth. The sun provides light to the night sky by reflecting off the moon. So it is the sun and moon who are responsible for lighting up the Earth—they illuminate.
We personify all of the planets in the zodiac, so why not the sun and moon? It’s confusing. In Circe’s Code we personify Luna and Sol, just like we do the other planets.
Luna represents the Goddess’s dream. She is pure Goddess energy. Sol, her firstborn ‘son’ of immaculate conception, is pure God energy. Together, they are the godhead.

The Ancient Rulerships of Astrology
To fully understand pairs we need to know the rulership system used in astrology by the ancients. The ancients were using the rulership system as a key to decode (delineate) a chart. We call this key the “Natural Chart”. Consider the example below.
We make a big deal these days about our “rising sign”, whereas the ancients were much more concerned with the sign of the ruler, of your first house. If your new to astrology or the rulerships, its not as complicated as it sounds.
To the ancients the rising sign was just that, a literal sign post, pointing you in the direction you need to go. For instance, say your rising sign is Taurus. That means that Taurus in on the cusp of your first house. In modern astrology, the practice is to associate this rising sign with the way people perceive you.
This is not at all what the ancients practiced. The ancient astrologer would see Taurus on the cusp of your first house, and then go looking for Venus, because Venus is the ruler of Taurus in the Natural Chart. Say your Venus is in Gemini. That would mean Gemini is more important than Taurus in regards to your first house matters of image and identity. Venus will lend you her tools and skillset, but it’s Gemini energy she is directing you to embody, in this example.
The ancients assigned Luna and Sol, one astrological sign and one astrological house, each, to rule over. They assigned the five planets, two astrological signs and two astrological houses, to rule over.
The Natural Chart of the Placidus House System
In mainstream astrology, the Natural Chart is simply the key we use to delineate (decipher) an astrological chart. Modern astrologers will often assign the outer, slow moving planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) a place within the Natural Chart key. As stated above, Circe’s Code does not do this. Circe’s Code is based on the ancient rulership system.
Ancient vs Modern Rulerships
Delegating rulership to the outer planets Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto breaks a perfect pairing system.
A Civic Code for a Free Earth
The Natural Chart is always the same, it never changes. In Circe’s Code it is much more than just a ciphering key. Circe’s Code reveals a hidden set of birth-rights and values required to co-exist in free states. It’s one of many two-part systems.
- It’s a civic code.
 - It’s a key.

Terminology: Sectors, Stations & Houses
Houses: An astrological house is one of twelve divisions of the horoscope that represent distinct areas of human experience and life. These houses are representations of sectors of the local sky, both above and below the horizon.
Sectors: In Circe’s Code we refer to houses as Sectors. They represent certain sectors of life that we are required to hold sacred if we are to live in harmony with minimal governance.
Stations: In keeping with the train analogy, each Sector contains a train station. The train represents your magnum opus. Therefore, the train station is a workstation. The station represents the actual work you need to do in each sector of life, in order to fulfill your life mission. The train represents your progress.
Station Masters: The Natural Chart Rulers according to the ancient rulerships.
Conductors: Your unique Birth Chart Rulers according to the ancient rulerships
Natural Rulers of the Zodiac & Your Birth Chart House Rulers
The Natural Rulers teach us the collective core rights and value systems required for true freedom, both in our personal lives and communities; AND how to combine those core values to create super strong foundations, with deeply grounded root structures, so the only possible outcome is the proliferation of an abundance of healthy, beautiful fruit. It literally contains the wisdom to create heaven on Earth.
Whereas, your Birth Chart Rulers guide you to the material tools, surroundings, accouterments, etc. that will support you energetically in the sector of life they rule. We don’t typically think of mundane things carrying frequency, but they do, and it’s important. They also tell you the unique needs, qualities, skills, and value systems required of you in their assigned sectors.
Station Masters & Conductors of Circe’s Code
The train analogy helps us to understand this two-part system. We can view the natural rulers of the zodiac as Station Masters. They give you the ticket you need to get on the train. Instead of paying for your tickets in cash, you pay by listening to the wisdom of the Station Masters. The wisdom hidden within the natural chart can be viewed as one rail of the track. In Circe’s Code, we call this the Outer Rim.
The house rulers of your personal birth chart are Conductors. They help steer you along your personal track, as your doing the work. The wisdom hidden in your personal birth chart can be viewed as the inner rail of the track. In Circe’s Code, we call this the Inner Rim.
Circe’s Code sees the Outer Rim as an integral part of the birth chart, rather than being separate from it. The activation of your birth chart is a complex dance of these two parts.
The Train Analogy
In the train analogy, we can view the rims of the birth chart as the rails of the train track. The Outer Rim is the outer rail of the track. The Inner Rim is the inner rail of the track. Your train (your divine work) is not going to get very far on just one rail. Two rails are required to make a track. It’s a two-step process.
Sometimes one Guardian will fulfill the duties of both Station Master and Conductor in a Sector. But it is not typical. Oftentimes, you will be working with two different Guardians in a Sector. One acting as the Station Master and one acting as the Sector Conductor.
Remember those axes we talked about at the beginning of the post. These axes act as transportation lines that carry you to the various sectors of life requiring your attention. Keep an eye out for future posts sponsored by the number six for a deep dive on the axes. In regards to the number two, we are focused on the two poles or stations at the end of each axis. These are the workstations of life. The work you do in one station always affects how long it takes you, and how close you are able to get to perfection, in the station at the opposite end of the line. It is easy to get off track.
